Coaching Supervision
ICF Global defines coaching supervision as a collaborative learning practice designed to continuously build the coach’s capacity through reflective dialogue — for the benefit of both the coach as a professional and their clients.
EMCC Global defines it as a reflective dialogue that supports the supervisee’s practice, development, and wellbeing.
Inside the Collective Shift Academy, supervision is not treated as a formality or a credential requirement. It is treated as one of the most honest and professionally mature investments a coach can make — in their clients, their practice, and themselves.

— THE 3 CORE PURPOSES
Coaching supervision serves three distinct and equally important functions:
01
The Formative Function — Quality of skills and effectiveness This space addresses the quality of your professional competencies, the coach-client relationship, contracting, partnership management, and ongoing professional development objectives.
02
The Normative Function — Standards, ethics, and codes of practice This function addresses blurred boundaries, situations where the coach may be working outside their contract or competence, ethical concerns, and cases where the coach becomes aware of something that raises concerns for the client or organisation.
03
The Restorative Function — Emotional wellbeing and resilience This space holds the emotional weight of coaching work — the loss of a client, repeated rejection, the persistent feeling of not being good enough, frustration from lack of progress. These are real, and they deserve a real professional space.
How to access supervision:
01
Individual Sessions Scheduled according to your availability and pace, on request. A private, confidential space tailored entirely to your current practice and challenges.
02
Group Coaching Supervision Join a small group of coaches facing similar challenges and needs. Group supervision adds a dimension that individual sessions cannot replicate: the collective wisdom of peers who understand the work from the inside.
